Paul Ruby is the managing attorney at Ruby Law Group LLC (“RLG”). For nearly a decade, Mr. Ruby’s career has focused exclusively on business immigration law. RLG’s practice is devoted to employment-based “green card” and nonimmigrant visa petitions. Mr. Ruby has more than a decade of experience assisting clients in the EB-1, EB-3, EB-5, L-1a, and E-2 categories. RLG is a small law practice based in Nashville, but practicing exclusively in the area of federal immigration law, meaning we are able to represent employers and clients across the country before federal agencies, such as U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services and the U.S. Department of Labor.

We regularly work on behalf of employers hiring “other workers” through the EB-3 program. This sub-category involves workers hiring individuals in hard-to-fill positions for which they cannot find enough staff in the domestic labor pool. We provide hands-on guidance and expertise at all stages of the process, from recruitment to Labor Certification filing and on through all stages of immigration processing. In addition, our connected office, PERM Labor LLC, is uniquely situated to assist in sourcing and placing qualified candidates from abroad with our employer clients.

Another of our primary practice areas involves helping overseas entrepreneurs and business owners immigrate to the U.S. and start businesses here. RLG is unique because we offer a turnkey, concierge service for our clients that far exceeds the level of service provided by most immigration law firms. We not only provide immigration processing services, we also write best-in-class business plans, assist with corporate registrations, and even provide consulting services on industry and site selection. Bundling these services not only ensures a consistent overall plan for our clients, but also helps them keep costs reasonable. We have developed a one-stop shop for E-2 and L-1a cases that lets us consistently deliver ideal results and provide our clients not only with picture-perfect service, but also great value.

Mr. Ruby is also well-known in the EB-5 world and has extensive experience on both the investor and developer sides of the process. Mr. Ruby has filed hundreds of I-526 and I-829 petitions for investors in dozens of projects with a solid track record of petition approval at all stages. In addition, Mr. Ruby has represented EB-5 project sponsors forming regional centers and developing job-creating EB-5 projects. He has a successful track record filing I-924 applications on behalf of several regional centers. In addition, Mr. Ruby brings a unique perspective to the project development and regional center formation side of the equation, having significant personal experience on the project development side himself, including in project structuring, EB-5 fundraising, obtaining non-EB-5 capital for EB-5 projects, and project oversight and monitoring.

RLG leverages an extensive network of U.S. and overseas immigration lawyers and consultants to deliver superior results for the firm’s clients. We are deeply involved in second citizenship programs so that individuals from non-E-2 treaty countries can make use of that program. Our network also offers our clients a local presence in their home country to ensure they are comfortable fully communicating all the details of their case. Finally, within the U.S., we have connections in a number of franchise industries and can facilitate introductions to help our clients realize their dream of opening a business in the U.S.

By way of training and education, Paul Ruby earned a B.A. from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island and a J.D. from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was admitted to the Wisconsin Bar in 2007 and practices exclusively federal immigration law. Mr. Ruby is a member of AILA, the American Immigration Lawyer’s Association. In 2012, he served as the Editor of the legal and resources sections of “The EB-5 Book,” in which he also authored the section on how to file successful investor petitions. Mr. Ruby has spoken on EB-5 matters to audiences of attorneys, project developers, service providers, and investors across the country and around the world, including in China and Vietnam, and has also educated lawyers in Continuing Legal Education seminars on EB-5 visas, consular processing, and high-skilled immigration.

RLG is based in Nashville, Tennessee, where Mr. Ruby lives with his wife, who is a partner at a large Nashville-based law firm, and their six year old son. Mr. Ruby’s interests outside the office include travel, skiing, and playing squash. In warmer months, you can find him on the boat at Smith Lake, Alabama.
